The Fernthai Volunteer Foundation was originally formed to help some of Thailands poorest rural communities establish a sustainable route out of poverty. With that in mind its worth bearing in mind that unlike some organisations we don't just go into these communities and dictate what our volunteers are going to do to help these people out. We have spent a long time establishing and building relationships with them. Rather than impose ourselves we want to genuinely help them. We feel the best way that is done is by really taking the time to listen to their needs and help accordingly. As circumstances and needs change, we change, adapt and evolve as a foundation alongside them. What happens on one volunteers experience could be noticeably different to anothers as we cater our volunteering efforts to that particular moment in time.
