| Description: | The Visa on Entry rules in Thailand have changed again apparently. This time travellers will be given a mere 15 days stay when obtaining the cost-free "Visa on Entry" at the Thai border. It is therefore recommmendable to obtain a 2 month "tourist visa" at the Thai consulate or Embassy before arrival in Thailand. These visas can be extended for a further month at a local immmiration office for a fee of 2000 baht. You can buy as many of the 2 month visas as you wish to, so in principle you can buy 4, or 8, for example, and only have to leave Thaialnd once every 3 months to a border and walk back in. The visas copst 1000 baht each, with a 2000 baht extra fee when you extend an extra month, giving a total cost of 3000 baht for 3 months. So you can either have a yearly cost of 12000 baht and 4 entries, or 4000 baht and 6 entries.
